Every day we are bombarded by media with celebrities and their lavishing lifestyles. Who went where, bought what, did this, did that, and yet, those same media try to sell us exclusive, and very human, humble, down to earth, interviews with those same celebrities talking about how they are not so different from us, the common folk. That very controversy shows just how out of touch the celebrities are with the real world. And by being out of touch with the real word, we mean things like not having to everyday mainstream activities most of us do, like housework, buying groceries, cooking, washing and we mean things like not taking seriously some of the major problems of our society, like modern diseases, poverty etc.
Sometimes, we wonder, do celebrities realize that they are being followed, listened to and even adored by large numbers of the public? Do they know that every word they say every opinion and attitude that they express matters to a lot of people and influence a lot of people? Well, if they do not know, somebody should inform them to take responsibility. Being a celebrity is not all just glamour and carefree life. Being a celebrity comes with the responsibility to use their influence for the greater good. Applause for those celebs who have realized that, but we cannot turn heads from those who still didn’t.
One of the celebrities who, definitely, has his own world is a young pop sensation Justin Bieber. He even has his own language and words like “belieber” and his own “Bieberpedia”. And we expect something else than him writing: “Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber” in the guestbook when he visited Anne Frank’s Memorial.
Another celeb worth mentioning is Mariah Carrey. Sure nobody expects a diva like that to be in touch with the real world but her statement about how she cries when she sees the poor children on the TV and how she would love to be skinny like that, but without the flies and death just leaves without any comment what so ever.
Ashton Kutcher has some wise theories up his sleeve, he claims that he can kill two birds with one stone, in other words he has found the solution to our economy problems and obesity. “If the fat people just gave the skinny people more food, we could all just eat, we could solve obesity and hunger at the same time” Ashton said.
There is no celebrity out of touch with reality like the one and only Kanye West. His prophet like statements are becoming distasteful to say the least. “God chose me. He made a path for me. I am God’s vessel. But my greatest pain in life is that I will never be able to see myself perform live” said Kanye. Right alongside Kanye, another prophet emerged who goes by the name of P. Diddy. Diddy said that he feels safe wearing white, because, deep down inside he is an angel.
So there you have it, some of the celebrities who are so much out of touch with reality that it borders with bad taste. These celebs will leave a bitter taste in your mouth. Perhaps there is an upside to this story. Perhaps it is exactly these kinds of their actions and words that show just how common and earthly they are.
