An overview of the story:

The story moves around two girls, Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly. Both of them are murderesses and both love to be in the limelight. When they meet each other in the jail, Velma feels bad about Roxie as she thinks that Roxie is trying to get into the spot light with her murder and so, she develops jealousy towards Roxie. Roxie tries different weird methods to get into the headlines and instantly, she gains a lot of fame and becomes quite a popular woman in Chicago. After the trial, Roxie thinks that she will remain a celebrity for long but just then, there are news of other crimes in Chicago and all the notoriety of the girls end up in dust.

Traditional shows of Chicago:

The musical Chicago is written by Ebb and Bob Fosse. Lyrics are by Fred Ebb and music is by John Kander. The Broadway production of the Chicago was previewed at the 46th Street Theatre. It had more than 900 performances at that time for two years. In 1977, the show was closed to be revived again in 1996. Currently, Broadway productions are run at Shubert Theatre and the Ambassador Theatre as well as the 46th Street Theatre which has been renamed to Richard Rodgers Theatre.

Would it be advisable for you to SEE IT?

Although the musical is based on the topics of greed, lust, fame and murders, it is one of the most delightful landmarks that you can get at Broadway. The show is simply amazing and it had been performed more than two thousand times so you can imagine what its reception is like. It is one of the best musicals of all time and you should not miss it.

But the show is not advisable for children to watch due to the themes and children will find it boring and will make it difficult for you to sit through the show. So I would recommend that go without children.
